Women of Munsiyari: A Cinematic Tribute to the Indomitable Spirit of Women Released

Dehradun: Women of Munsiyari, a story in the form of film depicting the mesmerising bond between the unyielding spirit of the women of Munsiyari and the divine essence of the forest was released on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The enchanting forests of Munsiyari are home to women who walk through the forests as protectors of the ethereal green expanse. The women seem to draw inspiration from the sacred spirit of the forest to transform into a formidable force, patrolling, preserving, and protecting the vast wilderness that embraces and nurtures their existence. The forest is their keeper, confidante, and witness, eternally sharing their pain, tears, joys, and laughter. The film is created by acclaimed filmmaker Bharatbala and directed by documentary veteran Rachita Gorowala, and is the latest offering in the Uttarakhand Series, a collaboration between Virtual Bharat and the Rural India Supporting Trust (RIST). The lead actors starring in the film are Kamla Pandey, Beena Nitwal, Heera Tolia, Basanti Rawat, Beena Verma, and Malika Virdi. The film is directed by Rachita Gorowala and created by Bharatbala.
