CM Dhami sends ?125 crore social pension amount to over 8 lakh beneficiaries through one-click system*

Dehradun: Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister (CM) Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday transferred the old age, widow and disabled pension given under the Social Welfare Department through DBT (digital bank transfer) at the Chief Minister’s residence. During this period, the Chief Minister sent an amount of ? 125 crore as pension to 8,36,603 beneficiaries through one-click system. Through one click, a total of ? 79.97 crore was given to 5,33,180 beneficiaries of old age pension, ? 31.80 crore to 2,12,030 beneficiaries of widow pension and 91,393 beneficiaries of disabled pension as pension for the month of February – 2024. An amount of ? 13.70 crore has been sent. Thus, an amount of ? 125 crore has been sent as pension to 8,36,603 beneficiaries.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the old age, widow and disabled pensions given through DBT will provide relief to the beneficiaries. He said the pension is going directly into the accounts of the beneficiaries in one click. The state government has worked to simplify pension schemes. Also, the amount given earlier has been increased from ? 1200 to ?1500. He said that the state government has also done the work of giving pension to both the elderly couples. Due to which more and more people are getting benefited.
CM Dhami said that earlier pension was paid at an interval of 3 months. But now every month, the pension will come directly into the accounts of the beneficiaries; & the real objective of this scheme will be fulfilled. He said that the state government is continuously working towards providing pension to the disabled people as well as connecting them with the mainstream, providing them employment and aiding in their progress. He said that various public welfare schemes are being implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. Under Ayushman Bharat scheme, free treatment up to ? 5 lakh is being provided. Under Jal Jeevan Mission, every house is being covered with tap water. The work of providing houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is going on. The resolution of the Central & State Government is to make women millionaires, for which ‘Lakhpati Didi Scheme’ has been started. Kisan Samman Nidhi is coming directly into the accounts of farmers. The government is working for every section.
CM Dhami said that arrangements have been made to make all the applications for the pension scheme online from April 2023. This has brought transparency in pension approval and beneficiaries are also getting the opportunity to know the status of their applications. He said that the state government is ready to provide benefits to all eligible beneficiaries in time. Efforts are being made from time to time by the state government to strengthen the pension distribution system. CM Dhami said that his every moment is dedicated to the development of the state and the people of the state. The state government will not step back in taking decisions for the development and public interest of the state. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi ji, we are working to make Uttarakhand the best state of India. On this occasion, Secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant, Director-in-charge GR Nautiyal, Deputy Director Vasudev Arya, Chief Finance Controller Kamlesh Bhandari, District Social Welfare Officer Govardhan Singh, Assistant Director Hemlata Pandey, pension beneficiaries of various districts and blocks and others were also virtually connected.
